image3The Highlights of Key West Accessible Driving Tour begins with a scenic drive that includes beautiful tropic views. You’ll then have the opportunity to visit the Hemingway house and museum, a National Landmark of Key West. This was the place where famous author Earnest Hemingway lived and wrote some of his most famous novels! The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden for you to explore and houses approximately 50 polydactyl (six-toed) cats. While the second floor of the house is not accessible without having to navigate steps, the museum has a video available to disabled visitors providing you with all the information exhibited on the second floor.

Next stop on your tour is the famous Flagler Station Oversea Railway Historium. At this small museum you have a chance to learn about Henry Flagler and his influence on Key West and all of the Keys development.

Your final stop on this accessible Highlights Key West tour is a visit to the Key West Aquarium; perhaps one of the most unique aquariums in the world! The aquarium was built in 1932 in an attempt to promote the city as “America’s Caribbean Island”. Today, the old aquarium hosts marine life indigenous to the Florida Keys, including grouper, moray eels, barracuda, tropical fish, tarpon, sharks, parrotfish and much more. This is a great visit for families!
