Your accessible Tortola shore excursion begins by meeting your friendly local guide/driver at the Tortola cruise dock. Board your private air-conditioned accessible van and head out on a scenic drive around this beautiful island as you enjoy lively commentary from your friendly local tour guide.

Your first stop of the day will be a visit to the J.R O’Neal Botanical Garden, a 4-acre showcase of lush plant life. This botanical garden is a cool and peaceful refuge located in the center of Road Town. The four-acre gardens include a lush array of indigenous and exotic tropical plants. A pergola walk, lily pond, waterfall, tropical bird houses, and miniature rain forests are just a few of the garden’s attractions. The gardens are considered by many to be among the finest in the Caribbean!

Next, your accessible Tortola shore excursion continues with a stop at the historic Church at Kingstown, also known as the African Church, in the Kingstown area of Tortola. This church was built in 1840 by a community of Africans who had been liberated from illegal slave ships.  After exploring the ruins of this historic church, your guide will take you to the fascinating Virgin Island Maritime Museum for a short tour. Following this, and a short drive, you will reach Josiah’s Bay Plantation. Originally a sugar factory, the building was converted into a rum distillery in the early 20th century. The machinery was powered by steam and diesel engines, examples of which can be seen on the site today. A restaurant, art gallery and store are now housed in this historic building.

This memorable Accessible 4 Hour Tortola Accessible Shore Excursion will finish with a stop at Fort Recovery. Built around an original 17th Century Dutch Fort, Fort Recovery is possibly one of the last standing and oldest, completely intact forts in the entire Caribbean!
